There’s that old saying: there are three sides to every story your side, my side, and the truth somewhere in between.

When people say “my truth,” it sounds like they’re trying to elevate their version of events into something more than just their perspective.

But if there’s a “my truth,” then there has to be a “your truth” as well and that just takes us further away from whatever actually happened.

It feels like it blurs the line between perspective and reality.
