I used to get super annoyed by people not having straight answers in comment sections or comment sections about a show/movie I might want to watch being riddled with fake details, spoilers, plot lines, etc.
I recently realized that as much as this seems unhelpful when it comes to wanting true spoilers for something you're maybe not as emotionally invested in, it helps to dilute the comments and give plausible deniability for those who don't want spoilers. If there's 10 different endings being thrown out in a discussion and only one is true, it's as good as unspoiled for those who don't want their experience with a show/movie ruined.
Obviously there are the situations where I'll see clips for an episode of a show I don't care to actually sit down and watch, so I just want to know how it ends. But I was following clips on a show I hadn't seen before and a plot twist may have gotten spoiled for me before I even had the chance to actually watch it (I was in the comment section looking for the title) and I realized that maybe those dumb comments people make are actually helpful, even if they aren't intended to be.
