This is coming from someone with zero background in dancing.
I've found that almost all dance forms bore me to a pulp, especially ballet dancing. I just find it so soppy and uninteresting. I couldn't care less about the sweeping movements of a ballroom dancer, or the amount of times a breakdancer can spin on his head...
But then when you look at movie scenes such as "Good Mornin'" from *Singin' in the Rain*, or the hot chocolate scene from *Polar Express*, or most notably the Nicholas Brothers in *Stormy Weather*... the choreography is absolutely... I can't even put together the words to describe how I feel. I could watch it forever!
The way their feet just move effortlessly and on beat, and the sound of the metal soles clacking on the floor is so damn satisfying! Bonus points if someone randomly starts tap dancing whilst going down the stairs (
). The absolute swagger is insane... Honestly, if I was a woman I'd be super turned on by the dance moves.
Honestly, if I were a woman, I'd probably get turned on watching these people.
Also, the epic big band swing often accompanying the dance sequences absolutely adds to the reasons why I love the style so much.
Maybe I'm just a sucker for 1920s-60s movies...
I really do respect dancers who spend decades strengthening themselves and often breaking their bodies for their craft, but I just find the end product boring as heck...
