First I’m going to start by saying that this is not and actual inconvenience in my life, it’s just an opinion that I have, so if you’re going to answer by saying stuff like “maybe they just want to say no” or “why do you want to decide for them”, I don’t care that much.
Now for my opinion. It’s been normalized to say stuff like “I can’t this day because I have to pack”, and it doesn’t make any sense for me. It takes 30 minutes to pack for a trip. If you’re slow or really picky, or the trip is going to be a little longer, it can be up to 1 hour, 1 hour and a half exaggerating a lot. I normally pack the night before a trip, or even the same morning. If it’s a really important trip, I pack with anticipation, just in case I remember some stuff between the date of packing and the trip. But still, the packing itself doesn’t take more than an hour.
So what I want to say with this is: just say that you want to have a free day, don’t blame the packing
