Romance books don't need to be longer than 300 to 350 pages

I'm really sick of seeing these romance books that are 400-500 pages because the plot just gets dragged out unnecessarily. Especially with the rise of "booktok" where there is very little character development and just a collection of tropes disguised as a "plot". These books are getting too long because they just have to include the 7th "who did this to you?!!" scene or another unnecessary smut scene. I saw one recently that was 700 pages long, what could you possibly have to say in a romance book that is 700 pages long?

(Now this doesn't include romantasy books where you need world building, I'm talking regular romance books set in modern times.)
