I believe every person should take a mandatory test to get a license to be able to purchase or adopt any animal.
I am so sick of watching people get a husky or border collie and forcing it to live in a one-bedroom apartment with 1 walk every week, then complaining when the dog has behavioural issues. Or when someone buys a leopard gecko or bird and knows absolutely nothing about it, and they get sick and suffer.
I have also considered the overflowing animal shelters issue, but if people actually needed to put in a lot of effort to get an animal, only the dedicated will get them, and therefore, demand will drop.
This is just a part of my perfect world.
(This got a lot more attention that i thought, and sadly i am but a teenager and can not answer every comment and question [trust i tried] so i will be leaving it as this, and hopefully other redditors will answer questions or discuss further)
