Not interacting with the original medium of a piece of media does not make you a fake fan

I hold this opinion most strongly with video games, mostly horror games such as Little Nightmares or FNAF. I do NOT do well when it comes to horror games because I get spooked easily, which is why I resort to watching playthroughs. There are also people like me who cannot afford the means to access it like consoles/PC or the medium itself, so I can't play Red Dead Redemption 2 or Deltarune no matter how hard I try. However if you have taken the time to learn the lore and intricacies of the media, and have made an attempt to interact with it in a way thats close to its true form (such as watching it) then I think you have the right to call yourself a fan
