Murderers should never be allowed parole and should have much worse living conditions than other prisoners

I think this will be unpopular because people usually fall into two camps, pro death penalty or pro reformative justice. This is neither.

*Disclaimer* I am not a hard line punishment > rehabilitation person. I believe many criminals can reform and rejoin society. I think, if anything, the standard jail experience (in many parts of the Western world) are entirely too punitive and produce more criminals than they cure.

However, I think murderers are a different beast. I think if you take someone's life, you should forfeit your own. And no, I don't mean the death penalty. The justice system is much too corrupt and inept to have a death penalty, even one incorrect execution is too many. I don't trust any government/judicial apparatus enough to trust them to dole out the death penalty.

But if you have murdered someone, you have deprived them the right to life. You have ended their existence. There is no coming back from that for them. It's done.

As such, I think you should be imprisoned for life, no parole.

Furthermore, I think your quality of life should be minimal survival needs.

Food for sustenance, a toilet, a bed. But not much more. No cell mates to talk to, no mail in our out, no games, or tv, or yard time. They can have some books to keep themselves busy, but that's about it.

And yes, I do think this is inhumane, but I also think murder is inhumane and the punishment should fit the crime. If you have killed someone, you have committed the most heinous crime imaginable. And you will have forfeited any rights to life yourself as a result.

And no, all killings are not murders. There are obviously plenty of extenuating circumstances. But if you decide to kill someone, and follow through, with no justifiable reasoning, then you should lose your rights to life in society forever.
