This was obvious in the early seasons of SpongeBob. However it's become more controversial as the show went on because Krabs has done some fucked up stuff for a character that's not supposed to be the main antagonist of the show.
But even still if you compare the wrongs Krabs and Plankton have done, Plankton is still worse objectively. Just because he has some good moments shouldn't fool people into forgetting what he's done in the show.
Let's see as far as the awful stuff Mr.Krabs has done he's:
- Sold SpongeBob for 62 cents to the Flying Dutchman
- Tried to kill Squidward so he could sell his art for a ton of money
- Has poisoned or tried to poison his customers intentionally or unintentionally on multiple occasions
- Abused Gary and other animals
- Scared plankton into trying to end his life
You might see all of this and think "wow, that's fucked up." It is and I'm not saying it isn't. But plankton managed to top all of this in one act.
In the first movie plankton almost got Mr. Krabs Killed and was able to enslave all of Bikini Bottom except for Krabs because he was frozen and SpongeBob, Patrick, and Mindy because they left. He enslaved the citizens, the animals, and even managed to enslave King Neptune who is a deity to them.
Imagine Jesus coming down to earth and someone enslaving him on some Angel Engine type of shit.
That one act alone clears everything Mr Krabs has done so far and honestly if it was real life he would have gotten the death penalty or life without parole in solitary confinement or they probably would have even brought back legal torture devices for him after that shit.
I don't care how many times they show the little shit crying or being normal, there's no overlooking that. If I was King Neptune I would have cursed him for the rest of his life.
