I’m gonna say it…… Movies from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s were just better.

Not “nostalgia better” actually better.

Back then you had originality, real risks, and practical effects that still hold up today. Movies like The Terminator, The Matrix, Gladiator, Jurassic Park… they didn’t feel like they were made by a committee trying to check boxes—they felt like someone actually had a vision.

Now everything feels like a sequel, reboot, or part of a cinematic universe. Same formulas, same safe scripts, overloaded CGI. Movies used to feel like events… now they feel like content.

And yeah, there are still good movies today—but it’s not even close to how consistent it used to be.

Yeah, tech is better now, but something got lost along the way. Movies used to feel like events now they feel like content.Everything is so politically correct and cautious of what they do or say.

Be honest what’s a modern movie that hits the same as those did on first watch?
