There seems to be this belief that guns are somehow macho and cool in the modern world, but how does using a weapon that can be operated by a child and lets you kill someone from a quarter mile away without them ever even knowing about it make you cool?
I mean I believe in resolving disputes amicably and I’m not a fan of wanton violence, but if I am gonna be killed I’d rather it be by someone displaying some physical prowess and the ability to overpower, rather than some fat slob holding an AR-15 pretending they’re in Call of Duty.
At least back in the day loading a gun took some time and they were inaccurate as shit so there was an element of skill, but guns today and the easy access to them are basically a licence for the weak and stupid to murder indiscriminately. And obviously I understand marksmanship is a skill, but if some mental defective can buy a weapon that allows them to spray a room in bullets and kill 15 people in 3 seconds— they’re not a marksman, they’re a weak coward.
