I recently went through a breakup. At first, it was hard since I went from always having someone around to suddenly being alone.
But lately I’ve started to realize something.
Being on your own actually feels really good.
I’m M22, living alone, and there’s something powerful about having full control over your life. You eat when you want, sleep when you want, make noise, sit in silence, do absolutely nothing, and it’s all yours.
Of course, having someone to share life with is beautiful. But I feel like a lot of people are afraid of being alone, like it’s something to escape from.
Learning to enjoy your own company? That’s something else entirely.
There’s a kind of freedom in it that’s hard to describe, but once you feel it, you don’t really look at things the same way anymore.
Anyone else experienced this?
