I’m not entirely sure how popular this opinion is, but the fact that it’s even legal is baffling to me.
Back when gambling was confined to casinos, you had to book a trip to gamble, go out of the way.
It was basically Atlantic City and Las Vegas. I’m not opposed to having Casinos be more popular, but being able to do it 24/7 on your phone is so conducive to gambling addiction.
Even before sports betting was banned and unbanned you had to go to a bookie. Now every gambling activity you could possibly want is on your phone. You can do anything you could do in a Casino, and bet on any sporting event.
Now to top things off you can vote on the fucking weather, on who wins presidential election all through an official medium on your phone. It’s going to create an entire new generation of gambling addicts, and it’s going to be so much harder to quit because their triggers aren’t just going to be sports or games of chance, but literally everything.
On a sidenote celebrities advertising Kalshi are also horrible people.
