If an Uber smells that bad, you shouldn’t have to pay full price or should be able to cancel the ride for free.

I’m sorry but body odour should not be part of the journey. I booked a ride, not a full sensory assault. I shouldn’t have to sit there breathing through my mouth, staring out the window, trying to survive the trip like it’s a challenge.

And it’s not just BO. It’s everything. Sometimes there’s damp looking seats. Mystery stains that clearly have a backstory. That thick, humid air where you just know the windows don’t get opened enough. I shouldn’t have to breathe in air that’s spoicy. That’s not normal right? I’m not saying this is every car ride but I’m sure a lot of people have experienced a car that nearly made you pass out.

This is a service. We are paying full price for it. The absolute bare minimum is that the car is clean and doesn’t smell like a bin on wheels. I shouldn’t have to mentally prepare myself before opening the door like I’m about to enter a boss fight.

In future I refuse to sit there politely while I’m being forced to inhale someone else’s bad life choices for 10–15 minutes. It’s be nice if there was a “this car is unclean button” or something.

Edit: I know people could abuse that system so it would be nice to have a rating for cleanliness and send pictures to customer service if the seats are stained etc
