Like up to 60 percent shorter. Especially the open world games. I think a majority of you can agree that quality over quantity of things to do is ideal. But I won’t argue that aspect. I want to keep up with new releases as well as replay classics and find much older games I never touched back then. But being an adult with other shit to do, modern games are just too time consuming. A new single player game takes about like 80 hours just to finish, and much more to nearly 100 percent complete with side missions and collectables. I know side quests are optional but I have FOMO so i end up wanting to finish them all in case it unlocks the good ending or adds to the story in any meaningful way. By the time I’m 70 percent done, I’m already mentally done with the game and now just looking forward to what I’m going to play after I slog through the rest of the game. I’m the kind of person that wants to experience everything a game has to offer over the weekend. That’s why I enjoy games like Portal, Sands of Time, Bioshock, Hotline Miami. Fun, straight to the point, and doesn’t over stay its welcome.
