I wish people would stop using the word "theory" when what they actually mean is "hypothesis."
This way, the misconception of the word "theory" would start fading, and I don't know, my friend's hunch wouldn't be on the same level as gravity.
Also, when people say, "this is just a theory," it feels like they completely believe the said theory.
Edit: I know it has multiple meanings, and this multiplicity is causing my issue, like people saying, "evolution is just a theory, not a fact."
