I left the office at 8pm today. My job requires me to work only 40 hours a week but any 5 days Monday-Sunday. We take turns working holidays and all work about 75/104 weekend days. This schedule has gotten me out of the dreaded 9-5 m-f routine of the typical cooperate job I used to have. Every week has a different schedule with a different slate of work. The best part is I usually don't have to work more than 4 consecutive days.

I would have liked to be with family today on Easter. But I feel like I maximize my days off, especially holidays off. It makes me extra grateful for the time I do get to be with friends and family. Plus, I'm more productive on weekdays off running errands instead of having the typical Sunday mentality of taking a rest day.

For context - I'm 30 & in a relationship but no kids, yet. I'm not sure if this schedule will be good or bad when I have kids.

ETA: I've been doing this for 5 years since I was 25. I had depression my whole life but it instantly melted away since I landed this job. But maybe part of that was being forced to avoid hangovers so I could be functional in the office on weekends
