I know this is unpopular, but I genuinely think having no friends is better than having friendships

People act like having no friends is automatically sad, but bad friendships can do way more damage than solitude ever will. Constant drama, one-sided effort, fake support, being the “backup friend,” or staying connected out of habit can slowly wreck your confidence and peace of mind.

When you have no friends, at least your time and energy are your own. You can focus on yourself, your goals, hobbies, health, or meeting people who actually respect you instead of tolerating people who make you feel invisible.

A lot of people stay in terrible friendships just because society treats “having friends” like a status symbol. But I’d rather be alone and at peace than surrounded by people who gossip about me, only contact me when they need something, or make me feel lonely even when I’m with them.

Being alone isn’t always loneliness. Sometimes it’s peace, clarity, and self-respect.
