You can not convince me that folding was ever in the mind of the creator. Fitted sheets are ment to be balled up and thrown in the closet behind closed doors. They will stretch out and be covered when used, no one will see the wrinkles. Only some sort of bed wizard can fold them. I think they burned fitted sheet folders in the 1500s.
