I live in the UK for context. In everyday speech, I every single person I know uses 12 hour time. But most people use 24 hour time on their phone/computer. I think that's stupid because you're mixing systems. Someone will text me "let's meet at 15:00" but if they said it to my face it would be "let's meet at 3".
I've even been ridiculed by my mates for having my phone set to 12 hour time.
And here's the thing, both systems are arbitrary and neither has benefits over the other for clarity etc. Understanding that PM means in the afternoon is no more difficult than understanding how to subtract 12. Anyone who says things like "brits and Americans can't do simple maths, that's why they use 12 hour time" is obviously being disingenuous.
So my argument is not that 12 hour time is better, but that mixing systems is worse than not mixing systems. And in my opinion, is it more frictionless to adopt the everyday speech version into our digital world than it is to adopt the digital version into our everyday speech. So everybody should use 12 hour time.
