when I find an interesting take, I usually write proper paragraphs expecting a similar level of engagement back. That's generally how real conversations work when people actually know how to communicate.
But I've noticed a pattern. Some people just avoid engaging altogether, while others respond only with a stream of questions. Not responses to what was said, not actual input.
For example: instead of engaging with the point or giving their own stance, it turns into things like "Why do you think that?" or "Have you considered X?" without ever addressing what was actually said.
Or the classic "The real question is…" followed by a completely different direction that ignores the original topic. Or when someone asks if you know something without explaining why it matters or how it connects to the discussion, basically shifting the entire burden of the conversation onto you.
And honestly, I'd rather you just ignore my reply than do that. It ends up feeling like you're doing all the work while they hide behind questions. It's lazy and unconstructive.
