Dark lip liner with a lighter toned lip. Not a fan

The dark lined lip with the lighter lipstick in the center is really popular right now. I personally don’t think it’s a flattering look. Am I the only one? It doesn’t bother me when people wear it, I just don’t think it looks as nice as a soft lip without the harsh lipliner around the borders of the lip.
