a lot of people think that because a lot of Americans say “like” as a filler word, it means we’re uneducated because we have different filler words than other countries do. “like” is very common the same way other filler words like “uhh”, “um”, and “ahh” are. it’s a part of the way we speak, especially in western states near California. i don’t judge other people for saying a filler word in a different language or dialect than i do, it’s just a general part of language and dialect differences.
