Handshakes are just awkward. The other person could squeeze your hand too hard. Or they could hold onto your hand for for a few seconds too long, which makes it uncomfortable. A fist bump is quicker and more friendly. And when you walk by somebody, you have to stop if you want to shake their hand. But if you do the fist bump, you only have to slow down. It's great if you're in a hurry or if you have something in your hand.
