People too readily disregard warnings from people they consider to be a hypocrite.

People do things for all types of reasons. Many of them even fully understand their failings. I think in many cases hyprocrites are the BEST people to listen to, not the worst. Someone stuck in their own vices and mistakes may not be able to personally beat them, but that does not automatically make their warnings invalid. The message is what matters and can be right or wrong no matter who it comes from. Many times there is no better person to warn what not to do that someone stuck in the results of that decision.
