Most people don’t quit guitar because it’s hard...they quit because they practice wrong

I teach guitar, and honestly, most beginners don’t quit because they lack ability. They quit because: They jump between too many things, they don’t slow down enough to actually learn, they expect results way too fast. Guitar isn’t some insanely difficult skill.... it just exposes inconsistency really fast. But what really gets me is the influence from online content. I’ve had students with genuine potential get discouraged right in front of me because they saw some YouTuber claim they got “insanely good in 3 months.” Meanwhile, they’ve been practicing for 3 months and are still working through basics which is completely normal. That comparison just kills their motivation. Most people aren’t failing ,t hey’re just measuring themselves against unrealistic timelines and chaotic practice. Pretty much applicable for every other hobby!
