I am not someone who consumes a lot of short form content, but some of my friends and family have recently been sending me "edits" of shows/movies/characters I enjoy. You probably know the type. Flashy cuts designed to make the character look cool, song lyrics on the screen, sound effects lined up with the beat drop, etc.
I get that this is just people having fun and celebrating media and I'm not trying to shit on them. But everytime I get sent one of these it comes with a caption like "this is so sick" and the comment section is freaking out over how cool it is. To be honest, I just think they are not very creative, not very difficult and even when it is a character I care about is makes me feel nothing. What is the appeal here? Anyone else feel this way?
